‍Lean In with Intention – Lean Out with Perspective
We all naturally lean in (push forward, take action) and lean out (step back, reset) in different areas of life. The key is knowing when to do each—so that stress, challenges, and energy shifts work for you, not against you.
I developed the Lean In & Lean Out Method after experiencing burnout, anxiety, and a constant push-pull between overdoing and avoiding. I had moments of leaning in too hard—taking on too much, not knowing when to pause, pushing through exhaustion. And other times, I leaned out too much, disconnecting, procrastinating, or avoiding hard conversations. Neither extreme worked.
Through my own journey, I learned that balance is the key to energy, clarity, and flow. Now, I help others—whether it’s parents juggling life’s demands, corporate teams managing stress, or students navigating pressure—find their own rhythm of when to push and when to pause.
‍
Most of us either push too hard (leading to burnout and frustration) or pull away too much (leading to avoidance and missed opportunities). This method helps you find the balance between action and pause—so you can move through life with more energy, clarity, and control.
It’s not about doing more or less—it’s about knowing when to lean in and when to lean out.
This Method Helps You:
Recognize Your Patterns – Are you constantly pushing or holding back?
Create Balance – Know when to step up and when to step back.
Move With Purpose – Stop reacting unconsciously—lean in with intention, lean out with perspective.
‍
Stepping into discomfort to grow and evolve
Taking action on things that truly matter
Pushing through fear to create positive change
Showing up for challenges with focus and purpose
‍
Pausing to recharge and reset before burnout kicks in
Gaining clarity before making big decisions
Letting go of control when forcing things isn’t working
Creating space for new ideas, perspectives, and solutions
When you master this method, you stop operating on autopilot and start moving with intention—leading to better decisions, less stress, and more flow in your life.
When Leaning In & Leaning Out Works Against Us
Like anything, leaning in and leaning out can either serve us or hold us back—it all depends on how and when we do it.

This method changed my life. After years of pushing too hard, running on stress, and feeling out of sync, I learned how to tune in to my nervous system, energy levels, and stress responses. Now, I teach this method to people of all ages so they can create more ease, freedom, and control in their own lives.
The Benefits of Lean In & Lean Out:
‍
"This method helped me balance training and recovery. I used to overtrain and then crash. Now, I know when to push myself and when to allow my body to recover. My performance has improved massively, and I feel so much more in tune with my body."
"My son has struggled with anxiety for years, always overwhelmed and never knowing when to step back. Learning about Lean In & Lean Out has given him tools to manage stress, make clearer decisions, and feel more in control. I can’t thank Chris enough for this approach."
"As a teacher, I see students either over-engage to the point of stress or completely shut down. Since introducing this method, I’ve noticed a huge difference in how they manage challenges. They’re more aware of when to push forward and when to take a moment. It’s been a game-changer in the classroom."
"This was a great session, and we are all talking about Lean In & Lean Out daily. It makes so much sense and brings immediate clarity to discussions. I don’t know how we managed without it before! Last year’s session on breathwork was powerful, but adding this concept to our strategy review took it to another level. It’s now common language within our team and is helping leaders empower their people. The shift in self-awareness is huge and incredibly helpful."
True balance isn’t about doing less or more—it’s about knowing when to lean in with intention and when to lean out with perspective. When you master this, you’ll move through life with greater ease, clarity, and confidence.
